About Us

The Democratic Party is committed to keeping our nation safe and expanding opportunity for every American. That commitment is reflected in an agenda that emphasizes a strong and lasting economy, job creation, education, health care, and clean energy. The Columbia County Democratic Party works cooperatively with the National Democratic Party, the Democratic Party of Georgia, and with local Democratic organizations in surrounding counties, to advocate for the election of Democrats who will serve as qualified, committed, and common sense representatives.

The Columbia County Democratic Committee, the governing authority of the Columbia County Democratic Party, is united in common purpose: committing itself to the Democratic Party’s core principles and ideals. The Committee fosters a grassroots community that is inclusive and accessible to all people, and ensures Democratic participation in issues and elections.

Our major goals are to enhance public education, provide universal health care, and maintain public safety. We believe in women's choice, affirmative action, LGBTQ+ rights, immigrant rights, increased minimum wage, freedom to read, recognition of unions as an important aid to labor, campaign finance reform, and environmental protection. We oppose privatization of Social Security, and the Postal Service. We oppose all cuts to social services that hurt the poor, disabled, and elderly.
